Adidas’ Sustainability — Setting the Standard for Golf Shoes

Jun 02, 2021

Adidas CodeChaos Play with Purpose

Sustainability is top of mind for many businesses these days, and Adidas is leading the pack with their efforts to strike a balance between the expectations of their shareholders and the needs and concerns surrounding the environment. For Adidas, sustainability is an ongoing effort and an integral component of their ‘Own the Game’ strategy.

Innovation is at the heart of Adidas’ sustainability efforts, with the brand’s ultimate goal to design sustainably produced products, including Adidas golf shoes, that deliver high performance.

Adidas CodeChaos 21 — Golf-based Innovations

Adidas Code Chaos Shoes

Adidas CodeChaos golf shoes are a new line of spikeless shoes that look more like a running shoe than a traditional Adidas golf shoe. Available in three models — CodeChaos, CodeChaos Boa and CodeChaos Sport — the line boasts impressive technical features.

The first is Adidas’ “Twistgrip” proprietary traction system. The system was created by studying where and how golfers shift their weight during their swing. This information was used by Adidas to design an insert that creates maximum traction. So even without spikes, you don’t have to worry about your feet slipping when you swing.

The other innovation comes in the form of a mesh upper so all Adidas CodeChaos golf shoes are lightweight, waterproof and breathable. Selections from this line are available in Adidas women's golf shoes and Adidas men's golf shoes.

Primeblue Capsule Collection — Eco-innovative Plastic Replacement

As part of the brand’s partnership with the environmental organization Parley for the Oceans, Adidas has created the Primeblue collection of sustainable shoes made using a certain amount of recycled ocean plastic. The effort began in 2015, and Adidas produced more than 15 million pairs of Adidas recycled plastic shoes containing Parley Ocean Plastic® in 2020; their next target is 17 million in 2021.

Primeblue is just one way Adidas is focused on sustainability. The brand is also working to use more recycled polyester. Their goal is to replace all virgin polyester products with recycled polyester where possible by 2024. Currently, polyester is the most common single-used material in Adidas products.

When it comes to innovative technology that keeps the health of the environment top of mind, Adidas continues to lead the pack thanks to Adidas’ sustainability efforts for golf shoes and more.
