LAYERING MADE SIMPLE

Mar 02, 2017

BASE LAYER: The base layer is a snug top, and possibly bottoms, that hug the body in order to warm and support the muscles used in your golf swing. This layer will reduce the risk of muscle strain/damage and keep you dry. Compression technology found in some base layers will enhance circulation and boost stamina.

MID-LAYER: In some climates, only a mid-layer will be necessary for the majority of your golf round. The thermal regulation provided by a mid-layer will keep the body comfortable and produce optimal levels of performance. This layer will block wind and aide the base layer in wicking moisture without restricting the golf swing.

OUTER LAYER: Not only does the top outer layer add an additional degree of warmth it also must function to protect you from wind and rain on the golf course. This layer must also be well ventilated and not bulky. Remember, you still need freedom of movement to perform at your highest level.

FairwayStyles has put together two looks from some of our favorite pieces to complete your entire layering needs. We will keep you warm & functioning well on the golf course this fall and winter. Take advantage of one of these hand-picked layering kits below and keep playing the game we love a few more months!

Look 1 offers a great looking golf outfit with tons of versatility. The Nike base layer can be worn under the Dunning Vest on a mild day and paired with the J. Lindeberg flannel pants. Once the temperature drops you can pack on the J. Lindeberg Mid Layer Pullover and the Adidas Climaheat Prime Fill Jacket and warm your head with the Wolsey beanie.

Look 2 brings in the men’s tights, and if you’re wondering these can only be worn when it’s cold and under a pair of pants. They are not athleisure for men! Wearing these Nike Hyperwarm base layer pants under any of your regular golf pants makes a big difference. Wear them under the Nike Weatherized Golf Pants and you are ready for some serious cold. Also included in this outfit is the Zero restriction LS Tee if you don’t like the mock look and want a little more room. Top these layers off with the Puma Power Warm Popover and/or the J. Lindeberg Ventus Jacket and you are set for just about anything on the golf course.
