There is plenty to discuss surrounding The 2025 Players Championship, between weather delays, a two-man playoff, and all kinds of superstars, young studs and journeymen in the mix all four days.
And while it was Rory McIlroy who ultimately hoisted the trophy after a playoff against J.J. Spaun, both golfers – and a handful of their fellow competitors – were all winners in the fashion department.
Here’s a look at the winning and runner-up looks, and some other highlights from a fun week in Ponte Vedra Beach.
Rory McIlroy
Rory McIlroy battled tough conditions and a long delay on Sunday, but still managed to put himself in position to win. And he did it looking sharp in Nike’s DF Tour Stripe OLC Shirt in Platinum Violet / White, paired with the Tour Repel 5 Pocket Slim Pants in Diffused Blue.
He capped it off – pun intended – with something similar to the DriFit Club Structured Curved Bill Perf hat. And if you wanted to fully complete this winning look, the Air Max Plus G Spikeless or Air Zoom Victory Tour 3 shoes would look dynamite with this fit.
J.J. Spaun
J.J. Spaun, a longtime veteran with one win on the PGA Tour, went toe-to-toe with a few of the world’s best players at Sawgrass and he very much looked the part – both with his skills and his style.
On Sunday, Spaun was rocking Puma’s X PTC Tile Shirt in White Glow / Deep Navy, which is made with their lightweight MATTR fabric that has a four-way stretch, enhanced airflow, and moisture control. He paired it with the Dealer 5 Pocket Pants in Ash Gray, and it’s no wonder he played so well.
And shout out to the CLOUDSPUN Tech 1/4 Zip Outerwear that he wore during Monday morning’s chilly finish.
Other Highlights
There were plenty of other bright spots throughout the week when it comes to the latest in golf fashion, and you gotta start with the shoes.
That’s because Billy Horschel was showing off FootJoy’s Premiere Series Packard LX Golf Shoe in White / Tan / Navy on Saturday. Not to be outdone by Taylor Moore, who wore a very cool version of their Premiere Series Field LX Golf Shoe, paired nicely with his Ryan Shirt from B. Draddy.
Some other bright spots from the tournament, literally speaking, belonged to Lucas Glover in Greyson’s Saranac shirt in Falcon / Delphinium on Sunday, with stretch, durability, and movement with ease. While Cameron Young was feeling blue – in a good way – wearing FootJoy’s Allover Floral Shirt in Blue / Aqua on Sunday.
Justin Thomas also looked great in Greyson once again, especially on Saturday wearing the Phantom Shirt in Iona, which is perfect for JT with touches of modern sophistication and a comfortable fit. And Rory’s Nike DF Tour Print Shirt in Diffused Blue / White on Saturday was a great way for him to have a little fun but in a low-key kinda way.
There are plenty more iconic tournaments, big names, and scene-stealing looks to come this season, and FairwayStyles will be there for it. Congrats to Rory for his big win!
